Are you joking? Referee Andre Watson---another South African---refused
to play advantage and robbed France of two tries in the first half of
the 1999 RWC final. The New Zealand television commentary team was
deeply disturbed by Watson's performance.

Under any other referee, France would have gone into halftime leading
by 20 points to 9. Instead, they realized that they could never
overcome Andre "The Warbler" and unfortunately, they resorted to foul
play and that issue, with the headline-grabbing threat by Eales to
take his team off the field, overshadowed the far more troubling one
of the biased and prejudicial refereeing.
