Ten New Zealanders despised by Morrissey Breen (Jan. 7, 2004)

1.) PAUL HOLMES... racist, smarmy, insincere, condescending, self-obsessed, bigoted prick;

2.) TONY VEITCH... jerk;

3.) BRIAN EDWARDS... smarmy, snivelling crawler, liar and distorter. Who, other than the Witch Finder Pursuivant David Bisman, was not disgusted by his (unsuccessful) attempted hatchet job on Linley Hood last year?

4.) PHIL ("PHAT MAN") GIFFORD... glib, ignorant, hail-fellow-well met faux "ordinary bloke" schtick has grated for decades;

5.) "SIR" ROBERT JONES... vicious, sneering rich bastard;

6.) CHRIS LAIDLAW... pompous windbag, memorably described by Paul Holmes as "that fellow who has sleepwalked his way into every perk job in the country";

7.) DAVID KIRK... smarmy, pathologically grinning, choirboy-voiced, racist crawler;

8.) MURRAY DEAKER... vicious, racist pilgarlic who has never forgiven the All Blacks for blacklisting him after his ignorant behaviour before, during and after the 1999 World Cup. John Dybvig perhaps sums Deaker up best of all: "Murray Deaker," he repeats every week on his Radio Sport weekly slot, "is an IDIOT!". Has possibly started drinking again, which should make his TV show interesting to watch
this year....;

9.) JOHN CAMPBELL... unbearably pompous, overweeningly precious auto-cue reader;

10.) MARTIN ("MORON") DEVLIN... Sports ignoramus. John Dybvig again: "Martin Devlin is a WIMP!" Has one thing and one thing only going for him: he's Phil ("Phat Man") Gifford's mortal enemy.
