It’s a no-brainer, of course, but for some reason Kim Hill seems confused. Radio NZ National, Saturday 3 October 2015
During her interview this morning with the chattery writer and “theatre-maker” Stella Duffy, Kim Hill brought up the vexed question of our brave and principled government’s refusal to let Chris Brown into New Zealand. Both of them seemed to think this little exercise in highly selective morality was acceptable. I sent Kim the following email….
The Chris Brown hypocrisy
Dear Kim,
We gave Bill Clinton a state reception and lionized him. Next to Clinton, Chris Brown is Albert Schweitzer.
Yours sincerely,
Morrissey Breen Northcote Point
After the 11 o’clock news, Kim Hill read out my email and then replied on air: “D’ya think, Morrissey? When did Bill Clinton whack a woman, or anybody else?”
As she spoke, her voice took on a hard-edged and imperious tone, to underline how irritated she was at my impugning of the reputation of the saintly former president.
I replied thusly….
Dear Kim,
While Clinton’s predatory behaviour toward women is notorious and well documented, he has not to my knowledge ever “whacked” a woman. So, in that respect, he has the advantage over Chris Brown.
However, Chris Brown was not involved in the bombing of pharmaceutical plants and television stations; neither did he preside over a “sanctions” regime that led to the deaths of more than half a million Iraqi children.
And Chris Brown did not write in apparent high seriousness that unarmed Palestinian protestors executed by the IDF were “killed in crossfire”.
So, yes, Chris Brown hit at least one woman, and his rap lyrics are despicable, but there is simply no comparison between him and a major criminal like Bill Clinton.
Good point. There was a certain tone of derision in Kim’s voice. Think she didn’t realise the crimes Clinton committed. He’s the equivalent of Tony Balir in the UK.
I understand that they sent him home for several reasons - 1. Too cowardly, he wanted to push a button in an armoured guided missile silo where he was safe but they don't have any of those. 2. He didn't want to bend over because he was already sore. 3. He failed the intelligence test. 4. He thought there would be rewards in heaven but wasn't quite sure whether they allowed idiots in. 5. He couldn't spell Kur'an. 6. Many more reasons but I have spent too much time already on a has been hack. (A pen for hire to write quick lurid and sensational script, also for promotional blurb. Sometimes paid by the word, so the more words the more money.) A hack is one thing, a has been self-aggrandizing version is rare but worthless! Tony

I am disappointed that you should so descendinto troll-like behaviour with such a gratuitously offensive post about another poster, Tony. I suspect you are one of those to have complained of such deliberate personal attacks in the past, to now attack another poster based not on what he had in his post but irrelevant and for all I know totally untrue (and certainly not justified by you) accusations is definately below th standards of posting that should be expected from all posters, and below the standard you have generally met in the past.

nor...@googlegroups.comRich this is you at your patronising best. You are the person that accused people of covering up a crime with zero evidence! Now you (yes you) defend a person who has anonymously posted vitriolic personal abuse against people time after time. He

Thanks Rich, but getting attacked by our friend Tony is like being savaged by a dead sheep.
I don't mind him, or Mutley.
I do think they should go and read some books, however. They really don't seem to know much about anything at all. Poor old Mutley doesn't even know that our government supports ISIS, and opposes the enemies of ISIS: Iran, Syria, the Hezbollah resistance organization and Russia.

'Both Morrissey and you appear to be trying to say that one wrong can be excused by finding a "worse wrong"'.
Excuse me? I said no such thing. I was not defending Chris Brown, any more than I defended another attacker of women, Tony Veitch. The point of my post was to highlight the obscene hypocrisy of the New Zealand government.

You have excelled yourself this time Rich. I have on occasion called you out because you have played the man and not the ball. It seems that you believe this is an opportunity for 'revenge', what a childish reaction from someone with some intelligence. Morrisey has on many, many occasions lambasted people in person in this newsgroup and attacked them in the most reprehensible ways. He is a coward and a bigot and has proven it time and time again here. He is
the worst kind of wannabee journalsit (incompetent, selective and unable to even comprehend the meaning of the word 'impartial'). He has attacked the memories of deceased people and has attacked the intellect and character of people that have the gross indecency to have different political views. He does not give a 'fat rats bum' whther he upsets the families of dead people he has attacked. You defend the indefensible. Tony
