The relentless taunting of these people—the mobs sneer “gypsies” at them—is a nasty throwback to the way Pakeha NZers’ ancestors treated Roma and Jews and Africans and the Irish in the 19th century.

Whatever the “unruly tourists” have done, it’s nothing compared to paying louts like Mike Hosking and MerreK Icrov to spray their asinine and offensive opinions each week. The woman who yelled that taunting question works for the Gerald: she therefore has no moral ascendancy over anyone.
I’m sure they only got taunted because of their appalling behaviour. They got what they deserved, probably won’t come back to NZ which is a good thing. Thanks to social media these clowns are now well known for their nasty stuff. A lot of people in UK say about time these louts got some pushback.
If the mobs in Hamilton and elsewhere taunting that “unruly family” were bothered by their behaviour, why did so many of them snarl “gypsies” at them?
And why didn’t those angry, disparaging mobs taunt Gerry Brownlee or Alan Gibbs or “Sir” Robert Jones or Chester Borrows and Paula Bennett after their far more dangerous and loutish behaviour?
I hope that we can get rid of them before they cost our justice and police systems any more money. They are just low-lifes.
We have ejected apparently good people before though they weren’t white trash. We should rescind their visas. It would be cheaper for us to pay for their fares back home than chase them round the country playing ‘Where’s Wally’. And of course ban them from ever coming back.
I see that we have got shot of the tourists and they are alleging they have been tortured. What fun, there is a load of drama for them. Trouble is, In Vino, that small number of people is an extraordinarily vicious and vocal two per cent. It’s the same people who demean and insult Maori people. Although I note with disgust that some of the crudest voices in that mob were Maori people: mob mentality infects all sorts, sadly.
What? I have occasionally picked you and a few others up for your lazy and complacent recycling of nonsense you’ve gleaned from the Telegraph or Fox News or Mike Hosking. That’s not taunting. Eventually children learn that yelling does not win them the positive attention of others. If the habit persists into adulthood, shunning is a common social response. Continued into old age, CLOUDS become a desperate codger’s best friend.
Have a look at any American website, Sacha. Or any British one, for that matter. They will more often than not have headlines of three or more lines in bold type. That headline was unusually long for this writer, i.e. moi—two lines max is the rule generally.
Because I have had to counsel poor old Sacha on her lack of nous—falling victim to Matthew Hooton, uttering harebrained critiques of the use of bold type, consistently displaying a bad-tempered and humorless response to being challenged—doesn’t mean I’m angry.
