[Despite what Craig Murray says] If Assange is placed in Swedish custody, a US-Swedish arrangement ("Temporary Surrender") makes extradition quick and easy.

Some people are saying that the Assange has nothing to fear from the bogus allegations/weak case in Sweden so Assange shouldn't object to extradition to Sweden.

BUT IT DOESN'T MATTER that the Swedish allegations are weak. As long as Sweden can obtain custody of Assange they can sent him to USA under the US-Sweden "Temporary Surrender" arrangement.

US prosecutors to 'help themselves' to Assange's possessions, including two manuscripts

US prosecutors to 'help themselves' to Julian Assange's possessions

Assange's lawyers - and UN officials - are being blocked from entry to Embassy. Material is said to include two manuscripts

Guardian -- JULIAN ASSANGE's belongings from his time living in the Ecuadorian embassy in London will be handed over to US prosecutors on Monday, according to WikiLeaks.

Ecuadorian officials are travelling to London to allow US prosecutors to “help themselves” to items including legal papers, medical records and electronic equipment, it was claimed.

WikiLeaks said UN officials and Assange’s lawyers were being stopped from being present. Lawyers said it was an illegal seizure of property, which has been requested by the US authorities. The material is said to include two of Assange’s manuscripts.

Assange was dragged out of the embassy last month and is serving a 50-week prison sentence for bail violations. He faces an extradition request from the US next month.

Kristinn Hrafnsson, the editor-in-chief of WikiLeaks, said:

“On Monday, Ecuador will perform a puppet show at the embassy of Ecuador in London for their masters in Washington, just in time to expand their extradition case before the UK deadline on 14 June. The Trump administration is inducing its allies to behave like it’s the wild west.”

Baltasar Garzón, the international legal coordinator for the defence of Assange and WikiLeaks, said:

“It is extremely worrying that Ecuador has proceeded with the search and seizure of property, documents, information and other material belonging to the defence of Julian Assange, which Ecuador arbitrarily confiscated, so that these can be handed over to the the agent of political persecution against him, the United States.

“It is an unprecedented attack on the rights of the defence, freedom of expression and access to information exposing massive human rights abuses and corruption. We call on international protection institutions to intervene to put a stop to this persecution.”

Swedish prosecturos today file request for Assange's detention over rape inquiry

Swedish prosecutors file request for Assange's detention over rape inquiry

RT - Published time: 20 May, 2019 06:38 -- PROSECUTORS IN SWEDEN have asked the courts to detain Julian Assange in his absence as part of an investigation into rape allegations. If the request is accepted, Sweden will issue an arrest warrant for the Wikileaks founders.

In an announcement on Monday morning the deputy director of public prosecutions in Sweden said that she had requested the District Court to detain Assange in his absence, “on probable cause suspected for rape (less serious crime). If the court decides to detain him, I will issue a European Arrest Warrant concerning surrender to Sweden."

The prosecutor, Eva-Marie Persson, added that if there is a conflict between a European arrest warrant and a request for extradition from the US, it would be up to UK authorities to decide where Assange would be sent after he finishes his current prison sentence.

“The outcome of this process is impossible to predict. However, in my view the Swedish case can proceed concurrently with the proceedings in the UK,” she said.

The Wikileaks founder is currently serving a 50-week prison sentence in the UK after he was arrested at the Ecuadorian Embassy, where he had sought political asylum for nearly seven years. The Wikileaks founder was found guilty of jumping bail, and may still face extradition to the United States or Sweden.

Two women accused Assange of sexual assault during a visit he made to Sweden in August 2010. Swedish prosecutors reopened the case after Assange’s arrest last month.

It is not unreasonable for Mr Assange to believe that his fate in the United States would be a lifetime detained in the horrific Super-Max penitentiary machine.

Mr Assange deserves respect and protection as a member of a vulnerable group of people inspired by the defence of human rights and committed to exposing abuses as whistleblowers or publishers.
Sweden has a Bloody Record of Illegal Cooperation with the United States

Sweden may seem to be the ideal democratic legal State everyone would dream to live in, but this image glosses over the close police and intelligence cooperation between the United States and Sweden. Since 9/11, Sweden has been condemned 17 times by international judicial bodies (the European Court of Human Rights, the UN Human Rights Council and the UN Committee against Torture) for not respecting the basic standards of the Geneva Convention on Refugees or the prohibition to extradite to countries where there is a risk of torture or inhumane and degrading treatment — with unacceptable and bloody consequences for the individuals involved and their families.

US charges could change after they've trolled through all Assange's private material

RT's Polly Boiko is outside the Embassy of Ecuador, London as police are expected to seize Julian Assange's belongings.

She says US authorities are supposed to have up to Mid-June to expand charges against Assange.

The extradition request from the UK says that Assange is wanted in the US for to conspiracy to hack a govt computer.

But there's concern that the charges could become more serious after they've trolled through all of Assange's stuff.
