Which Democrats, if any, can beat Trump?

Trump is definitely beatable, with his low approval ratings. But he could well win re-election, especially if the Democrats select the wrong candidate.

Here’s my take on how different Dems would do against Trump:

Probably beat him

• Pete Buttigieg – the anti Trump. Intellectual. Served in military. Very likeable. Avoids extreme left policies
• Kamala Harris – a former prosecutor so hard to pigeon hole as a liberal. Popular with broad appeal
• Beto O’Rourke – an empty vessel but a telegenic one who could win just on youth turnout

Probably lose to him

• Bernie Sanders – too left
• Elizabeth Warren – the Native American issue has damaged her
• Kirsten Gillibrand – too unpopular in her own party

Not sure

• Julian Castro
• Cory Booker
• Amy Klobuchar

What do readers think? Who if selected would do best and worst against Trump?

    Beto O’Rourke – an empty vessel

    Back in the 90s I attended a cult of the dead c0w event in London one night at a secret location which turned out to be an abandoned and pretty much dismantled office block.

    cDc had broken into it and set up a generator to provide lighting, electricity and a data network. For several hours a range of speakers delivered lectures on topics like creating currencies to a crowd sitting in the rubble. At the end the cDc people stripped their gear and disappeared.

    cDc pulled some crazy shit but they were also very organised and extremely sophisticated.

    And O’Rourke was a part of it. He is not stupid.

    Pete Buttigieg sounds like a cool guy.

    If only he had changed his surname about 20 years ago to something that you could say with a straight face. They’re never going to elect someone called President Buttigieg.

    He wasn’t “very likeable” when he said that the IDF was a model of what a security force should look like. Hiding behind sandbags and murdering hundreds of children, doctors, nurses, journalists and cripples is the IDF’s methoud of “security.” Even the prognathous goons in the U.S. border patrols seem humane compared to that.

    Far from being “the anti Trump”, Buttiegieg is a fascist just like Trump.

    Avoids extreme left policies

    He supports the IDF. He’s extreme right.
