Actually everyone who has ever hunted would enjoy the story, and so might the people who really don't give a crap about PETA and their mission, which is likely a serious majority of people.
You don't have to be in PETA to be disgusted by Favre's cruelty. The "disapproval" of Favre in this and other coverage of this story has been mild, and in many cases snidely supportive.
The contrast with the vicious howling against Michael Vick is instructive.
I find this story funny. Hunters don't want to see an animal suffer, but these are kids who didn't know what they were getting themselves into

Most animal scientists agree that the dumber an animal is, the easier it is for us to hunt them and eat them and treat them poorly. Dogs are extremely intelligent, social animals. A lot of people have close relationships with dogs maybe even closer than they have with most other humans. I believe that is why there was so much vicious howling as you call it at Michael Vick. I am guessing you are race baiting and waiting on another answer. Because he's black, right?
My brother worked at a meat packing plant for a while using a large tool that smashed into the heads of cattle to knock them out. Many times it would knock them to their knees but they would stumble up and he would smash them between the eyes again and they would be slaughtered before they regained consciousness. It is not pretty, but it happens all day every day all across America. We kill animals that we like to eat alI the time. I think a whole lot of people look at deer like cattle they are much the same, and just something to eat.

Michael Vick ran a business that viciously fought and killed hundreds of animals for profit. These animals are known as "man's best friend". How you can compare what he did as an adult to what Brett Favre did as a child is almost insane. I appreciate your involvement though, and even I thought that Michael received far too much punishment for his crime. I do not believe he was a danger to society and he certainly did not belong in jail. I think if a white athlete did the same he would be treated the same though... people have a special place in their heart for dogs. THAT is why there is so much disparity in the punishment.
