Leighton Smith carries on campaign against Kristin Dunne-Powell (Jul. 14, 2009)

The good folk at NewstalkZB are still on message, sneering at and
denigrating the woman abused and eventually hospitalized by their
colleague Tony Veitch. But instead of the concerted campaign of
vituperation they were running against her half a year or so ago, the
likes of Larry Williams and Leighton Smith are now restricting their verbal abuse of Kristen Dunne-Powell to the occasional weak gibe...

LEIGHTON SMITH: Rob. Good morning.

ROB: About the Dunne-Powell thing---

LEIGHTON SMITH: [angrily] The what?

ROB: The Dunne-Powell thing.

LEIGHTON SMITH: Who?

ROB: Kristen Dunne-Powell----

LEIGHTON SMITH: Who? What’s her name?

ROB: Whatever her name is. I didn’t even watch it.

LEIGHTON SMITH: Huh. I wasn’t watching it, that’s for sure. I’ve got better things to do. I wasn’t watching it.

ROB: Naaahhhh. Me neither.

LEIGHTON SMITH: Ahhhmmmmmmm. I have a friend who, ahhhhmmm, works with
social issues and he had something ve-e-e-e-ery, ahhhhmmmm, interesting to say about this Kristen Dunne-Powell. I’ll tell you after the News.

geopelia: No, he has a very good program.  We don't always agree with him, but he talks a lot of sense. If you don't like whatever he is discussing, try Coast. Wonderful music!

Old Wolf: No he doesn't. For example, every time there is a report of cold weather he makes some snide remark about global warming. He's hackneyed and doesn't let facts stand in the way of his opinions.

geopelia: Our big beef is his inability to tell the time. He's an hour out too often. Once we heard him be two hours out! In the mornings, folks want the time, weather and traffic conditions. Otherwise they will go to a more accurate station. It must be hard stuck in a studio with no reference to the outside world,  easy to lose track of time. So the studio should provide a large clock that can be easily seen. Perhaps a digital one.

It's, ummmmmm, ahhhhh, not WHAT he, ummmmm, "discusses", it's,
ahhhhhhhh, HOW he discusses. Or doesn't ahhhhhhhhhmmmm discuss. Have

debate with anyone? Ahhhhhhhmmmm, ahhhhhhh. Anyone that ahhhhhhhmmmm
contradicts him is met with an exasperated splutter of "Good grief!"
or ummmmmmm, ahhhhhh, simply cut off. And then there are the
ahhhhhhhmmmm interminable uuuuuummm, ahhhhh monologues, punctuated by
"ahhhhhhmmmm" and "errrrrr"....

Fred Yes. He's a serious god-botherer, not that he ever talks about it; but  believe me - everything he says comes from his mate god. Ring him up and  mention The Davinci code, or ask him about Richard Dawkins. E He even thinks Harry Potter is evil-devil worshipping anti-bible stuff. Brian Dooley: He's just thick.
