Mo: This woman regularly rings up New Zealand radio talkback shows, using
the name "Joy".

I dunno. Could be Cawston in drag.
Mo: No, this is definitely a Cockney woman in her 80s. When she rings
(about once every fortnight) she pours out bile for five minutes
without pause, and the host usually just lets her go on with it, then
when she is finished, utters a rather stunned "Thanks, Joy." The host
NEVER makes any attempt to enter into discussion afterwards; even the
most insensitive radio talkback hosts know when a deranged person is
on the line.

Joy lived in Kenya during the 1940s and 50s, and she hates, fears and
despises black Africans. Listening to her, you quickly understand why
the Mau Mau revolt had to happen.

Her views on Arabs, and especially Palestinian Arabs, are even madder
and more unhinged. I'm not a bit surprised to learn that Joy is now
throwing her soiled underwear at black people.

As for Cawston: I'm not sure if he rings talkback; I think he spends
most of his time (when not lurking here) talking to pine seedlings.

Tilly: That sounds like Joy who used to be in this newsgroup ,
but she wasn't in her 80's.
The woman in the article really does look like an aged Bavarian hausfrau.

Fred: I recall a Joy who used to post here frequently. She had a mate she often
went on about who went by the name of God.
bubba ray: At least she was an equal opportunity hater.
BR: Do you live your entire life with talkback radio hard wired into your
auditory nerve? Bill.
auditory nerve? Bill.
Mo: No, I monitor it occasionally. When I do, I often transcribe and put
it up on the net. Most of the time, Bill, I am busy doing otherthings---like reading or playing tennis, or looking for Sue Bilstein's
house.
BR: Nothing productive then. Bill
Mo: Monitoring and transcribing hate-radio is a productive and useful task, even though it takes up a small part of my time. This writer (i.e., moi) and several other dedicated transcription services (including the guys and gals over at Radio Transcripts Ltd.) go to the trouble of listening to goons like Smith, Holmes, Woodham, Deaker, Devlin, Laws and Edna (Joy) Beck so that YOU DON'T HAVE TO. One would think a simple "thank you" instead of a sniffy dismissal would be forthcoming from the likes of your good self.
Liberty: You must have a boring life. To spend all day transcribing talk back radio.
Mo: I spend a few minutes every few days or so. I hardly ever tune in to
it. I don't want my brain to rot by listening incessantly to that echo-
chamber of dullards.
it. I don't want my brain to rot by listening incessantly to that echo-

Liberty: Who in their right mind would care on what is said on talk back radio.
Mo: I care because I see its prejudiced and ignorant phrases recycled on
this and many other fora. It's trivial and it's very low-level
thinking, obviously, but it's unfeasibly influential. You don't seem
to realize that, but then serious or perceptive analysis is not
something I have detected in many of your posts.

Liberty: How many times a day do you ring up.
Mo: Never have and never will. I leave that to the likes of yourself and
Edna ("Joy") Beck.

No doubt you could write volumes. On a day's growth in a drought.
