Hayley Westenra Unmasked

To all music fans,
I have just been commissioned to write a biography of the New Zealand singing star Hayley Westenra, who has sprung to some prominence recently. Both my publisher and I are determined that this will not be a hagiography or a bland public relations exercise; we want to present the full, unvarnished truth about this young woman.
It is envisaged that the book, tentatively entitled Hayley Westenra Unmasked, will be published in time for the Christmas market.
If anyone can provide us with any details of Westenra's past
(boyfriends, temper tantrums, the role of her managerial team, etc.) please contact us at this address:

Why not wait thirty years or so and write about her career as a singer? I
think she has a great future. Now you could write about how she discovered
she had a good voice, her singing lessons and how you expect her voice to
develop etc.

If you just want to dig up mud (if any) try one of the more disreputable pop

As with any other, the product is advertised, marketed and sold.
As well, then, to examine the product and determine its market appeal:
unique selling point(s), mass appeal, niche appeal, durability,
reliability - you know the sort of thing.

But as for the New Zealand perspective, wouldn't it be just great if
the little lady were to compete in the Mobil Song Quest followed by
Cardiff Singer of the Tear? She would then be up against others in a
fair and open contest and, if she's really *that* good, her
professional career will be assured, long and illustrious - Malvina
Major, Kiri te Kanawa, Jonathan Lemalu et al.

The likelihood is, though that she'll simply end up as a female
equivalent of the bawling pub-singer, Russell Watson for whom, I'm
reliably informed, the clock is ticking. She'll (possibly) end up rich
yet simply another in a long succession of distantly and vaguely
recalled nine day wonders.

You make it sound as if a person can only be good at, and enjoy, one
thing. I'd say if a person has a short but high-paying career in one
field it may well provide them with the wherewithal to pursue other

If NZTabloid did journalism it'd be pretty much the only media outlet in
NZ which did so.
Almost _all_ the "journalists" in NZ just regurgitate press releases
written by someone else. They seem afraid of doing honest work.

When your passion is to discredit people before they have lived their
lives or really got into their careers, it sort of puts you 10 levels

Can't say I see it happening.

Redbaiter must garner whatever support he can muster. I, on the other
hand, shall have no need whatever of NZ taxpayer largess when that
time comes since I am already well provided for.

'Corner Dairy'? What on earth might that be? Surely they don't have
milking sheds with farmers' wives churning butter on the corners of
main streets in New Zealand? Whatever next, for goodness' sake?

With a singing voice like that, you can bet that she's not going to be a 5
minute wonder. Newsman is clueless if he doesn't think that she will make a
long lasting impact in the music industry. She could well end being as
successful as Madonna and a few other exceptional singers.
Of course without the support from you and Newsboy it's bound to be more of
a struggle for her, but she'll get there eventually even if it does take an
extra 10th of a second to do it.

As you say, no.
But what is it about some disaffected posters that, within only couple
of postings, they descend so easily into the
"child-molester-and-pervert" gutter?
