it makes me wonder how much the landscape of Rugby would be different today
if the dodgey reffing hadn't let France go through instead of Fiji in the
last world cup.

Are you a moron? If you are serious with this nonsense, then yes, you
are.
are.
While there is no doubt that referee error let the French score seven
points, to suggest that Fiji would ever have been able to do more than
scare a team like France is just ludicrous. The difference in depth
and class between France and Fiji is immense; Fiji certainly is
capable of frightening France, as they did in the 1987 quarter-final
at Eden Park, but to suggest that they could hold off FRANCE in a
match which France wanted to win, is moronic.

I suggest, if you want to spend your time worrying about injustices,
that you view a copy of the 1999 World Cup final. You'll see two
grave refereeing errors that actually AFFECTED the outcome of a match
between two major rugby powers, not between a superpower and a midget,
like that quarter-final was. If andre Watson had played advantage,
like southern hemisphere referees are supposed to do, France would
have led Australia by 20-9 at halftime, instead of trailing by three
points, with their spirit broken.

Just to speed up your search, the first grave error occurred at 8:35
of the first half, the second occurred at 30:00 of the first half.

> Why magical/ In all the 3N they've managed 1 magical game
Because NZ and Aus are generally accepted as the two best teams in the world
(England may have their nose in front now, but that won't last long). NZ and
Aus are the only teams who have ever been favourites since the cup began. NZ
and Aus between them have been in every final. NZ and Aus have won the cup 3
out of 4 occasions. No NH team has ever come close.
So for NZ and Australia to not have met in a final after 16 years is rather
unlucky. And when they eventually do, you can be guaranteed of a great game
of rugby.
